Well V2 is already overdue and luckily so for e-Ireland. We seem to have focused only on the military changes, We don't recall any articles focusing on the economic aspects since the articles of Don Squire many months ago. Saoirse believes it is time we focus on this again, and ideally try to initiate some form of co-ordination on a national scale to prepare us well.
So whats differerent
The main difference is customisation- customisation of products and customisation of labour skills. Ideally what business owners and workers choose to specialise in could be co-ordinated on a national scale to prevent an over-supply of some goods and skills, and a shortage of others. At a very minimum IDF members need to be organised to ensure a continuing supply of weapons So what can Ireland do to prepare for V2? Not very much untill more details are released. But as a start we could survey company owners and workers if they are willing to customise based on the needs of the country. This would also benefit them, as a scenario where 90% of our food companies focus on health, would mean very little profit for them, and alot more for the ones lucky enough to specialise in happiness. Lets try to take the "luck" out of it
Industry by industry analysis
Food Food will offer citizens health AND Happiness, Assuming these are of equal importance to determine a citizens productivity and battle damage, ideally we would have equal supply of each.
Weapons- different types of soldiers will need different types of weapons. There will be 2 types of Raw materials titanium (formerly diamonds) and iron. In addition, there will be the option of customising in damage or durability so the soldier has the choice of buying 1 weapon for each battle to maximise damage or buy 1 durable weapon to last for a few battles.
Moving tickets, The customiation choice is between health/ hapiness and distance. The introduction of customisation points for distance will tranform this industry as its currently dominated by Q1 suppliers but the equivalent of Q1's won't get anyone too far. Thie required upgrades will make oil a more important resource too.
Gifts - gone, Confirmation of what gift companies will be transformed to would have been nice but as diamonds are changed to titanium its reasonable to assume they will be tranferred to weapons factories
Houses- will contribute to a citizens happiness and health and durability becomes a feature too as houses will expire after a certain period,
Hospitals- the benefit of hospitals will depend on how close a citizens region is to it. This means a Q5 hospital in the South east will benefit citizens in Dublin and Cork However they also expire, and the government will need to have at least one is reserve.
Defense systems: Each region will have different terrain, and defense systems and soldier types will vary in effectiveness because of this.
Raw materials. Its been rumoured that a High regions productivity will be negated, meaning producing iron in the North East of Ireland, will be just as productive as in a high region in Spain. These are only rumours though and the fact it hasn't been hinted at in any of the Admins Insider articles, means I would be very surprised if it happens
We have food for thought mostly at this stage, hopefully more details will be released soon, and well in advance of the transition. But we can and NEED to begin making inroads now
